Becoming an Architect
By Elizabeth Morgan

Architecture has emerged to be a thriving branch of the construction industry. To become an architect, it requires some in-built skills and educational qualifications. An understanding of the structured and scientific ways of planning construction with novel ideas is one of the basic requirements. Any construction work should be perceived and preplanned with basic amenities like ventilation, heating, and air conditioning in a systematic way. Planning and perfect execution makes successful architect. Cultural values and ethnic traditions could be well reflected in architectural patterns.

Different kinds of software have been used after the introduction of automation in architectural designing. The oldest software is known as Computer Aided Design (CAD). But the problem with the software CAD was that it could give only a two dimensional view of the building structure in view. Precision with Auto CAD helps in drawing blueprints, which is a starting point for any construction work. There are modifications in latest CAD versions and 3D compatibility could be achieved. 3DMax is another major software which gives a three dimensional view enabling the architects and the viewers to make necessary modifications in the plan itself.

Architectural engineers, as part of a distinct and separate profession, are extremely talented and their role overlaps that of architects and other project engineers. Architectural engineering is different from civil engineering, because civil engineering course curriculum includes technical aspects, and not innovative concepts to be adopted to match interests of property owners.

Luxury home architects have to follow an extravagant plan with pragmatism. As architects are planning for a spatial area, plans are submitted to customer for approval and necessary changes are incorporated. Luxury home architects should be prepared to satisfy property owners' every demand.

Architectural engineers are not allowed to practice architecture independently. While they should have passed courses in architecture, they are nonetheless confined to one or more engineering disciplines. This is the practice followed in many countries of the world.
