Normalize Indoor Humidity With Desiccant Dehumidifiers
By Mayoor Patel

Hot, humid days are the worst days during summer. The conventional saying, "It's not the heat; it's the humidity" rings true in our ears whenever we feel fatigued, uncomfortable, sweaty, and sticky. The discomfort that heat brings us is far worse with humidity.

All office building have in built refrigerant or desiccant dehumidifiers to stabalise the humidity at levels humans feel comfortable with. This level is usually around 45% to 50%. This technology is now widely available for homes and offices, but obviously on a smaller scale. These devices come as portable so they can be used anywhere around the home and are very reasonable in price.

This type of humidifier works well when the humidity is high or low. It has the ability to add or retract humidity from the air as too little moisture in the air can be uncomfortable and too much can also be uncomfortable. The device can detect when to do either by measuring the humidity, all one needs to do is plug in the device and away it goes.

You can also purchase a gas fired desiccant dehumidifier which will save you a fair amount on electricity. These come especially useful when you need to go off on camping or hiking trips and can help to reduce the humidity of the inside of your tent for a much more enjoyable sleep. These types of device will probably operate of the same gas cylinder you use to cook your food.

These types of dehumidifier will cool the air as well as control the humidity, which makes them particularly useful for fluctuating climates. So for the colder winter months when humidity is low the device will put more moisture into the air and undertake no cooling and when it is hot remove moisture and cool simultaneously.
