Caring For Fans Correctly
By Kerry Rodden

Fans are incredibly valuable products to have in your home. There are countless products on the market that incorporate the fan into them and, what's more, there is an increased need for stand alone fans. No matter what type of product you have or are looking to purchase, spend a few minutes looking for the right quality and then, take care of it. A fan that is purchased with care can last you a long time when you care for it over the coarse of time.

In caring for a fan, consider these important qualifications.

1. Fans should be kept dust free. The more dust that accumulates on the blades, the harder the motor needs to work. In addition, the dust can get into the fan's air suction and that too can lead to problems with the motor.

2. You should tighten the screws on fan blades every few months. Those fans that are used heavily will need more attention than those that do not. A blade that becomes loose not only will cause you to have to deal with the possibility of it falling but it will be louder, too.

3. Keep your fan oiled and working well. You should follow your owner's manual to get more details about how to keep your fan working properly to this level. Most of what needs done only needs a few minutes of your attention every few months.

When you properly care for the fans in your home, the appliance just works better. The largest concern that you have is keeping them clean as a fan that is loaded with dust can through that dust onto you and throughout your home. It's easy to care for a fan, though. Simply use some warm water with a touch of mild dish soap. Never get the motor wet, though!
