Shotgun Wall Damage - Home Dangers Dealing With Loaded Firearms
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Greg_Vandenberge]Greg Vandenberge

This type of stuff happens every once in awhile, but most of the time, you won't find people walking around their home with a loaded shotgun. Shotguns are extremely dangerous and believe it or not, these firearms can kill people.

I was watching a video the other day on shotgun wall damage and couldn't believe what I was looking at. The shotgun went through one wall and into the ceiling in the other room. The hole in the wall wasn't any bigger than 2 inches in diameter, but the shot spread out, all over the ceiling.

The damage itself wasn't going to be that big of a problem. However, what if the shotgun accidentally hit a high voltage electrical line, air conditioning condensation line or even a water supply pipe. Could you imagine the damage that would have been done if something like this would have happened?

Most people who handle guns on a daily basis understand how important it is not to handle your weapons unsafely. Accidents do happen, but if we can avoid them, we need to learn from the past. Watching this video reminded me of how dangerous shotguns actually are.

If you have any weapons lying around your house, they should be locked up. If you don't have a place where you can lock them up, maybe you should contact your local police department to find out if there are any other alternatives. If you do have guns, it wouldn't be a bad idea to separate the ammunition from the gun.

This doesn't mean having the ammunition in your desk drawer and the gun laying on top of the desk.
