Should You Be Installing Siding on Your Home?
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Mark_J_Sinclair]Mark J Sinclair

Installing siding can either be a horrible task that no one should ever have to do, or it can be one that is difficult but rewarding in the end. The choice is up to you, but if you plan on taking care of the house panels yourself (and you don't have any experience with it), then you're in for a big task. You should familiarize yourself with all the prices that go along with it, so you don't go over your budget. The cost of different materials, such as any of the woods (clapboard, log, shake, and plywood) varies from week to week, and also differs by country, such as the US or Canada. Therefore, what you spend on that actual material can only be an estimate at best of what the final bill we be. If you really want to have a precise amount of what you're going to spend then you should consider vinyl siding, as it doesn't fluctuate as much. Sure, it's not the same as wood, but if you choose the right color scheme, the end will look fantastic.

When choosing what colors you're going to be painting, don't forget or neglect the shutters and trim. They are minor, so people tend to overlook them, but when you're done painting the house, you'll know it right away if they don't match. Another good rule of thumb to have is to never judge a color simply by a swatch or sample at the store. It will look different when applied to your home and you might end up being disappointed. Try taking a picture and using photo editing software to get a better idea of what it will look like in the end.

In the rare occasion that you're not tired from all the work of the exterior, or you just wanted to work on the inside in the first place, you can now move to the interior paneling. Though you're working with less area overall, it can actually be more difficult to work on the inside because of the tight corners and all the furniture that can get in your way. Hopefully you're doing this before you've brought all the couches in, but if not, don't worry. You'll take care of it.
