When one considers the word housekeeping it really has two applications. One is to the upkeep of the house in regards to repairs and keeping it in good shape. The other is in housecleaning which is a almost daily routine.
When it comes to the repair aspects it's very important that one keeps up with this type of work in order to keep the house at its money value. You have equity building in your home and if you don't keep up with the upkeep than that is going to detract from the true value of your home.
When it comes to the housekeeping duties this applies to your daily maintenance and routine. For example your housekeeping also includes your outdoor maintenance such as keeping your gardens in order and your lawns well manicured.
For the indoors you have your daily type cleaning which is cleaning up the everyday clutter that happens from your daily routine. Then most often individuals will plan a weekly housekeeping cleaning regime where this is the time for washing the floors, dusting and vacuuming.
Then there are those that have a seasonal housekeeping regime. This usually takes place twice a year which is the spring/summer and fall/winter. The spring/summer cleaning usually involves the window cleaning and the putting up fresh curtains. When it comes to the fall/winter many people will spend time on shampooing their carpets and being prepared to do their Christmas decorating. When it comes to decorating many people will change their styles for the seasons as well. Along with this is when many of the housekeeping chores are done.
Housekeeping will also include as we mentioned the repairs of but there is minor renovations that will often take place during this time for example perhaps a room may need a new coat of paint or some new wallpaper. This can all be combined during the housekeeping regime.
Some individuals just don't have the time to do their own heavy housekeeping so they will often hire an outside firm to do or perhaps a regular cleaning person. This works well for individuals that are working and just don't have the time to put into their home. It makes it much easier for them to keep up with the daily maintenance program once the house has been organized and most of the clutter has been discarded.
