Before you are going to repair anything in your house, safety for yourself and your family is the first thing that you need to think of. No matter what you are fixing, there must be safety rules to follow through and it is important that no one gets hurt.

So, please pay extra attention on the below safety tips...

1. Make sure you have a safety goggles handy and use them when there are risks of something flying up into your eyes or when you are painting or fixing plasterboard ceilings. It is always important to protect our eyes.

2. Make sure that your free hand is always stay away from the cutting edges such as an electrical saw.

3. Read through the manufacturer directions and follow their instructions whenever you use a power tool

4. Do not wear loose clothe or jewelry because it might catch on something and result in an accident

5. All cords of power tools must be grounded in a three-prong receptacle

6. When you are handling caustic or acid materials such as cleaning products, paint thinners or glue, you must always wear gloves

7. Do not mix ingredients unless you know them very well. Most of time that mixture of ingredients produce dangerous gas which will cause you to death

8. If label instructs that you need to work in a well-ventilated area, please follow the instructions by working somewhere with doors or windows open. If you are susceptible to asthma and other lung problems, this is important to follow.

9. Make sure to wear gloves if you using chemical products such as pesticide. If the manufacturer recommends that the house or room should be vacated for a period of time, just go out for a movie or dinner with your family.

10. When you are on a ladder, please do not lean out to the side or climb up to the top step. The top step is for handholds purposes and not feet! Always have someone hold the ladder steady for you in order to prevent any accident to occur.

11. Never step on the drop-down shelf on step ladders, because the shelf is designed for holding paint buckets and tools.
