What Can I Do With a Garden Office?
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Lewis_Anthony]Lewis Anthony

Can you believe that when indoor plumbing and flush toilets were developed, the general public at that time viewed both as exotic and basically unnecessary? Hey! If they wanted water, they simply stepped outside with a bucket and if nature called, well, everyone knows that was something that was also "done outside".

Now the growing trend in garden offices has so many people of this generation asking themselves "what can I do with a garden office"? After all, they've gotten along just fine all these years without one. Of course in light of their growing popularity, just as with indoor plumbing, there must be a good number of people who see things differently.

Some of them are people who are simply are sick and tired of being cooped up with one another. Oh of course they love all the members of their immediate family. It's just that they like to have a place where they can go and spend some time alone with their craft work and some music every now and then.

Then again, there are the people out there that see this in reverse. That is that they like to have a place that the kids or their mate can go to and leave them alone in the main home with peace and quiet. This works especially great if they have teenagers who listen to what ever type of music they seem to prefer.

Others place a fold-out couch that converts to a bed in their rel=nofollow [http://www.green-studios.co.uk/]garden office and then it's always ready to serve double duty as guest quarters when friends or relative show up for a visit. Or once again, it's a nice place to store teens on the weekends and nights off when they want to have their friends over and stay up late.

Then again, why not use it for simply an office? After all an office that's disconnected from the main home has so many benefits to offer that an office in a spare bedroom or den can. Privacy is the first plus but the best one is that in the US it's just so much easier to get the home office tax deduction credit if the office is not in the home itself.

In the end though, it's how you decorate and finish out your garden office that will dictate how easy it will be to make multiple usages of it. As mentioned above, a fold out couch alone can make a big difference and no one will ever know the difference. But there's still more than that you can consider.

Take flooring as an example. You see, all too often when homeowners consider flooring for their new garden office, they head right straight to the carpet outlet and start looking. The problem there is that permanent carpet does leave the garden office with some limitations.

Why not consider some form of easy maintenance flooring, such as any one of the newer highly decorative and easy to clean and maintain, vinyl floor covers. Top it off with a nice big rug that can be rolled up if need be and now the room can be used for even dirty jobs and you don't have to worry about the carpet being damaged.
