What Do I Do When My Contractor Keeps Charging Me More Money?
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Greg_Vandenberge]Greg Vandenberge

If you're contractor is charging you more money for things that weren't in the contract, there is very little that you can do about it, unless you're planning on leaving these items out. However, that might not be the case and if it isn't, you could find yourself dealing with a dishonest contractor.

If you're working with a contractor and they're charging you more money, for things that you sincerely thought were part of the project, the first thing you need to do, is review your construction contract and make sure that these items were included. If they weren't in your original contract, but your contractor insinuated otherwise, it's probably time to find another contractor.

When I say that it's time to find another contractor, don't forget that you have a binding contract with this particular contractor. The first thing that you need to do is get out of the contract and if your contractor won't let you out of the contract, it might be time to take the contractor to court or arbitration.

If your contractor continues to nickel and dime you to death, by charging you for all sorts of different things, it wouldn't be a bad idea to have a powwow. Sit down with your contractor and explain your frustrations to them and try to solve the problem in a constructive way.

There are probably always going to be misunderstandings in the construction business, between contractors and homeowners. You can save yourself a lot of problems, by putting as much information into the construction contracts as possible. Your construction contracts should be easy to understand and include everything that the contractor is going to be responsible for.

If you're contractor continues to charge you more money and it becomes frustrating to you, the best advice that I could possibly give you, is to ask them why they're charging you more money. Sometimes problems like these are easier to solve than you think.
