Utilize Garage Cabinetry to Organize Your Space
By Arturo Ronzon

The best way to clean out and properly organize a garage that is cluttered is to install garage cabinetry. Garage cabinetry units are both easy to configure, and easy to customize as they come in a wide array of sizes and styles for a customized look and fit. Many garage cabinetry set ups feature riser feet, while allow for easy sweeping beneath cabinetry, which are ideal for any garage. Many garage cabinet systems feature surfaces that are made from melamine, which is typically fairly resistant to stains and scratches.

Garage cabinetry is especially helpful for a crowded garage, or when you are looking for extra space for storage. There are a variety of available styles that can be mixed and matched in order to customize your experience. A popular choice for garage cabinetry is Coleman, which offers scratch and stain resistant cabinetry surfaces, "tuff duty" and Dura-store organizers in an attempt to create the best possible durable, easy to use organizational tools. There are also wooden and metal garage cabinets available from Coleman.

The first step in organizing your garage is to empty the garage completely by sorting everything into different categories. Lawn maintenance, sporting and electronics can all be separated, among other things. Once you are able to actually look at all the stuff you have, it will become a great deal easier to determine the best way to store and organize everything that you have. Now is also a great time to decide what does and does not belong in the garage. Miscellaneous items that do not belong in the garage can be returned to their proper places now.

Next, you will want to separate out and eventually store the seasonal items that you keep in your garage. You can have items like snow shovels and blowers, ice scrapers, winter sports equipment and holiday decorations put up high or at lest out of the way. Tall cabinets for storage are great for this purpose. Other sporting equipment like baseball bats, rollerblades, tennis racquets, soccer gear and running shoes can be stored on solid steel or wooden shelving. Bicycles can also be hung from sturdy hooks, especially if there are several bikes stored haphazardly in the garage.
