How to Monitor the Water in Your Home With a Xanboo Device

Water can cause substantial damage to your house. This is not only about the bad looks; the excess water also spoils the walls and roof making them vulnerable to fungus. Before we get on to configure Xanboo, let us glance at the requirements. You will need a computer that runs on Windows or on Macintosh. Currently, the Xanboo does not support any other OS. You need to have the computer connected to the internet to monitor the water with Xanboo device. Other than these two requirements, you will require a system controller from Xanboo, and a wireless water sensor too.

Assuming that everything is ready, we now proceed to configure your system that will solve your query on how to monitor the water in your home with a Xanboo device. Logon to the "Xanboo Home Sight" portal and register there. Registration will hardly take 5-10 minutes depending upon your speed of typing and selecting the different options. Make sure you note down the Xanboo ID and the gateway installation number.

The next step is to plug your gateway, also called controller into an electrical socket and into the network router. After installation of the Xanboo software, you need to run the XanConfig program from the CD. You need to enter your ID and Gateway Token when asked. The next step is to setup the water sensor. Activate the sensor by pulling the battery tab from the sensor. Peel the strip from the back and affix it to the surface that you need to monitor. Then you need to come back to the computer and click "discover" to find the sensor.

Other than the flat surfaces, if you need to monitor the floors or pipes, use the cylinder. Place the cylinder on the floor to monitor the floor. For leaky pipes, use a bucket and keep in under the pipe. Put the cylinder in the bucket.

Now you need to check, if you have setup everything properly. Click on the "Notifications" button. This will help you by displaying a list of devices that are setup properly. Click on "Edit" and enter the method by which you wish the notifications to be sent to you. To receive the notifications, you will need to arm your sensor. For this, click the Xanboo PC Control Panel and then again click the arm button. You are done with.

Now you can monitor water in your house from virtually anywhere, if there is an internet connection. All you have to do is to log into your account and check the water levels whenever you feel like.
