A Deathtrap - How to Avoid Getting Slowly Killed by Your House
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Otto_Kreistler]Otto Kreistler

There are a great many things that can contribute to the maintenance of our good health and physical well being. There is on course the presence of the natural things that ensure the good health of an individual. You can exercise in a variety of ways to improve both your looks and your health. Eating a balanced diet every day not only gives you a smaller waistline but it also keeps you away from sicknesses and the quick degeneration of your body brought about by age and exposure to harmful substances. And of course maintaining a calm and serene state of mind always helps to keep away stress-giving you a wonderful defense against all the ills that it can do to your body and your life.

But apart from these obvious factors, there are other things that can definitely contribute to determining the difference between living until a ripe old age and falling prey to very bad health. Something as simple as your residence can be that deciding factor. Look around your house for a moment. Where is it situated? Of what substance is it made of. Are you sure that everything from the wiring to the kind of carpet contributes to the health of all the occupants of that home? It's much better to know sooner rather than later if the home that you love is a place of rest or a deathtrap.

So what are the things you should look at every time you make that sweep or inspection of your own home? Here are a few things:

- Make sure that all the paint, glue, wallpaper, paste and wood preservatives in your house are made from nature friendly materials. Some of these may contain odorless and colorless substances that may be hazardous to the health of that house's inhabitants, especially those with respiratory problems.

- Synthetic floor coverings and board coverings that have chemical emissions should be avoided at all costs. Concrete is also a bad idea, and should be avoided if possible, as it disrupts the earth's natural electromagnetic frequencies and can cause damage to your health.

- If possible, install a central vacuum.

- Do some research on your house. Find out for example if it has been treated with fumigations or other kinds of insecticides during the last five years. And if you find this to be so, it would be best to find information on the kinds of chemicals used and how they break down.

These are only a few ways to discover if your home is really the refuge of love and safety that it needs to be.
