Standing Coat Racks
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Anne_Clarke]Anne Clarke

Standing coat racks might sometimes be looked over in a home, however they are almost certainly missed in those homes which do not have a coat rack in them. Some of the reasons why a coat rack might be advantageous include:

  • Easily accessible - Almost everybody has had a party or get together during which they have collected coats from attendees and placed the coats on a bed in a nearby bedroom. This is a little inconvenient to the person who would rather have their coat where they can see it.

By having a rack near the door, guests can hang their coats and easily access them if they need to take something out of a pocket or if they need to leave. By keeping the coats in plain sight, the guest does not feel obliged to ask the homeowner to retrieve the outerwear.

  • Attractive - A nice coat rack can be an attractive addition to a home. For example, if a person decorates a home with a certain kind of décor in mind, buying a piece that accentuates this décor can only help the home as a whole look nicer.

  • Adds variety - Depending on what kind of a rack is used, it can do a lot to add variety to a home or a room as well. By including one made out of something like ivory or stone, a person is able to attract attention to a seemingly mundane thing and even make it one of the focal points of the room.

There are different types of standing racks that can be used in homes. Sometimes these are only large enough to hang a few coats, while at other times these are large enough to be able to accommodate up to 50 coats or more.

One of the styles that are perfect for use in offices or other areas where there might be a large need for are those that include a number of shelves and hooks for accessories. These are typically around four feet long and are large enough to easily fit dozens of coats on them. If it needs to be transported, many of them include wheels that make transport much easier.

However, sometimes those who use these larger styles are forced to sacrifice quality for quantity.

A smaller style is often made of nicer materials. Whereas larger ones are usually made of metal, smaller standing coat models can be made of oak, hickory or cherry wood. While what the racks are made from does not change their function, it certainly can change the aesthetics for those who own them and admire them.
