Which is Stronger - Environment Or Will Power?
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Talor_Stewart]Talor Stewart

We often talk about creating the life we want, and of making our surroundings reflect our own thoughts, feelings and ideals.

Our heroes are those who, despite adverse conditions of environment (be it social or physical) overcame the challenges and fulfilled the dream according to their vision.

Psychologists say we are products of our environment. A spiritual saying tells us "Cast a sinner among saints and he will soon be a saint himself." Scientists report that two clocks ticking out of harmony side by side will soon synchronize. Geologists inform us that soft plant and animal tissue will eventually become fossilized when surrounded by stone.

So how does it work? Which is stronger, environment or will power? Well, it is not black or white- both environment and will power vary in strength and intensity, and which wins the day ultimately is a matter of individual experience. However, there are some rule of thumb basics to be aware of, no matter who you are.

The key thing to notice in the examples above is that people who overcome the odds of adverse environment are either exceptional people with tremendous force of will, or are ordinary people with a short burst of energy strong enough to turn the tides.

The examples of environment overcoming and shaping the subject are long term exposure scenarios. Here's why: Even the most powerful mind, incessantly visualizing the desired outcome needs rest. There are times when a person is simply tired, distracted or asleep. But environment is 24/7. It never stops emitting its frequency, and so in the long term it has its influence.

So, in any given moment a person may overcome the circumstances with a mighty force of will, but over time, a person will become like the people he associates with, and attitudes and habits will be formed based on his environment.

Architecture, whether a person is aware of it or not, subtly influences the inhabitant for good or ill. How important it is to create a built environment that enhances and facilitates our dreams and goals! Ultimately, design can be the straw that breaks the camel's back or the truth that sets us free!

Happy Living!
