Sauna Kits Versus Pre-Built Saunas
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Benjamin_Wise]Benjamin Wise

You have to have some handyman skills to assemble a sauna kit. However, these kits do represent a large savings in labor when you compare that to building a sauna from scratch. In a kit, all of the wood and other material have been precut, so it is only a matter of reading the directions and fitting each piece together correctly.

If you are thinking about installing a sauna in a pre-existing space like a small room or a closet, you may want to go with a sauna kit. Pre-built saunas in a lot of cases are too large to fit into a small space and in general are used as a freestanding sauna.

You can get a sauna kit is just about any size and shape. You will even be able to get a custom-made sauna it you want to put a sauna in an unusual space.

If you buy a sauna kit, you will have to provide the framework and necessary wiring for it. If you want to convert a small room into a sauna, you will essentially need to take down the existing wallboard off the frames. You should then insulate the framework and install a plastic vapor barrier over the insulation.

You more than likely will need the expertise of an electrician to install the wiring for your sauna heater. Once you have done all of this preparatory work, your sauna kit is then attached to the prepared framework after which the heater is then hooked up to the power supply.

This could be a full day's work depending upon the size of the sauna and how much you are willing to do at any one time.

Pre-built Saunas

A modular, or pre-built sauna, is easy to assemble. All that is required is that you attach the pre-built sections. Pre-built saunas are freestanding units and can be put anywhere either inside or outside of your home. The wiring and lighting are installed at the factory, and in some cases companies will even provide the heater and other accessories

When you buy a pre-built sauna, be sure that the separate pieces will fit through your doorways. Most companies that sell pre-built units will specify the minimum size of the doorway required.
