Home Scenting
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Ashira_R]Ashira R

The first thing you notice when you walk into a home is any odors or scents. It almost is an alarm sensor in our brains to let us know the type of environment we are about to enter. Wanting the environment that greets guests when they walk into your home to be warm, friendly and relaxing is easier than you think.

There are the obvious and long standing ways to enhance the aromas in our home such as candles. The benefit of candles above some other styles of scenting your home is that they are also visually appealing. Different colors, scents and sizes make it an attractive way to filter the aromas through your home. The down side is if you have small children or pets that may burn themselves on the flames. If it is your office you are trying to change the mood in, the candle may set off an alarm or two you didn't plan on.

Indoor water fountains that provide aromatherapy was the water sounds tumble down are appealing not only to the nose, but the eyes and ears as well. The sound of water is soothing and calming; however, some water fountains or indoor foggers can be pricey.

Live by the beach and want to bring it inside with you; shells filled with an ocean breeze potpourri are a simple and easy way to manage that. The shells look wonderful as decor to any bathroom as well.

If you are looking for a way that you can quickly change the scent of your home and keep it that way for an extended period without having to think about it, effusion burners are your answer. They will saturate the fragrance of your choice faster than any other method.

Need to get rid of the fish smell from the succulent dinner, simmer rosemary in a small pot on the stove while you do the dishes. Before you are done, all that will remain from dinner is the remembrance on your taste buds.

Have a guest room that rarely gets used and need to keep the linens fresh smelling, stick a couple of unused downy sheets scented with lavender under the pillows. When guests arrive, simply remove the sheets for a simply fresh linen smell.

A fairly new method is fragrance reed diffusers. The reeds are placed into a bottle of oil, as the reed absorbs the oil it is released into the air. This is a long lasting way to keep the scent steady and balanced without the need of much care.

The newest item on the market to scent your home is crystals. Crystals are soaked in essential oils and emit a subtle scent for months while offering a variety of added color to the decor.

My personal favorite still, is the tried and true natural flower aroma. Living in a tropical area, nothing compares to fresh cut jasmine, lilies, or orange blossoms in a vase filling the dinning area with the smell of nature.

Bright blessings,
