Bedroom Closet Organizer - Keeping Your Bedroom Closet Organized For Maximum Effectiveness
By Josh Neumann

It's no secret that many people struggle to keep their homes organized. Often times, they simply don't know the steps necessary to get their lives in order. Actually, when you have a proven system for organizing your things, and you stick with that system, it becomes easier than ever to keep your belongings in order.

The bedroom closet is one of the most crucial elements of the bedroom to keep organized. The reason for this is very simple-it offers a lot of valuable space to store your belongings without getting in the way of your regular activities.

Without a good bedroom closet organizer, it puts an enormous amount of pressure on the rest of your bedroom to store and keep your things organized. Here are some tips to keep your bedroom closet organized starting today.

First of all, as with anything in life, you need to have a plan beforehand and then take action to achieve those steps. Don't just start rummaging through your closet and hope that things will turn out. Sit down and draw out how you plan to organize your belongings, and follow those steps.

The first (and probably least enjoyed) step is to discard every item you no longer use. Nobody likes this process.

After all, it's never fun to get rid of things you've spent your hard earned money on (especially those with sentimental value). However, this is a very necessary (and probably the most important) step to making sure your bedroom closet stays organized.

Now that this is done, either purchase a bedroom closet organizer to keep your belongings where they should be. These could be either boxes or shelves to keep your belongings on.

The most important part at this point is to keep your related items together and clearly labeled so that you can identify them when you need them. Nothing is more defeating than making a genuine effort to keeping your belongings organized only to get one kind of item mixed up with another.

Make use of your vertical space inside your closet. With shelves or boxes, simply pile them up towards the ceiling to leave more floor space, either to have room for yourself to walk in or for more items.

Most people make the mistake of only utilizing their floor space when organizing their belongings. Actually, the vertical space in your closet can be a very effective method to keeping your items in order and leaving room for any additional things you come across.

As you are going through this process, make sure that you leave about 20-30% of your closet clear so that if you come across more items later on, you have room to put them. Often times you will find another item that you know you should put in your closet, but since you've been so busy organizing your other things, you don't have any room available.
