Installing a sunroom in today's world is not as big a deal as it used to be. Sunroom construction can be as simple as choosing between a prefab or custom-built structure. Though some people think that prefab is a copy of the next-door neighbor's, you will find that compared to custom-built there is still a great deal of customization that goes into them. There is also a slight difference in all of them. Considering the amount of time a custom-built sunroom takes, which is generally a couple of months, a prefab sunroom will take just a couple of days. So it totally depends on the type of sunroom you want. The resale value will be higher on a custom-built sunroom.
There are also other considerations when building a sunroom. The first of these is to check out your local building codes and obtain the required permits. Most sunroom built today are about 95% glass and the advances in technology have made sunrooms become affordable and practical. Most of the glass is a tempered safety glass and is designed to resist the impact of weather that Mother Nature might throw at it. Insulation is also another primary factor for construction of a sunroom. With the double pane glass and different coatings that can be applied this problem can become a thing of the past. The glass available enables sunrooms to be built in all types of climates.
Another factor to consider in building a sunroom is that when you go to resell your home as soon as you tell the buyer that there is a sunroom the customer is going to be interested. Sunrooms have become very popular and when you look into it a sunroom you will realize it is something you can't afford to be without. Knowing that you have an extra room that you can enjoy on a daily basis while making a large investment in your home makes a sunroom very worthwhile.
