Also developed condensation problem on my old camera. I then got another JVC camera and after one year two months, It developed a lens cap problem. I had it repaired at my own expense. Later I heard that it was a factory fault and that untill February JVC will repair it for free. I did register my camera with them for warranty purpose! Why did they not notify me of the factory defect? Why did I have to pay if it is a factory defect? Product/Service Range 4

Beautiful equipment when it works. The equipment I bought 25 years ago still works though outdated now.

Two years ago I bought 3 JVC GR-D20EK camcorders. One for me, and one each for my kids.

One by one they had a problem that nothing is seen (lens cap)and had to go for repairs. (in warranty period for two, outside the warranty period for the other one) Unfortunately the shop I bought it from closed its doors and I had to pay for the repairs myself, at a non JVC person, as JVC refused to repair it, even against payment, if it is not sent by the place where I bought it).

Now two of them developed a problem that it detected condensation: One month apart, one in Ireland, one in Namibia, IN THE DESERT!

A second repair will bring the repair costs to more than the cost of a new SONY camcorder. If I can get a service manual, which JVC did not want to sell me the first time, I can save some money doing the job myself.

Also, I have to get quotations for the equipment of two multimedia centers. (Video projectors and sound systems) but are scared to go to JVC again.

Looking at the internet, it seems as if I am not the only person with these problems!
