Hi - help needed. I have a fairly long fence outside which is >100 years old. its wrought iron and I have removed most of the old paint/rust by pressure wash. I am now going to star to weld repair sections. Anyone know of methods (chemical) to remove rust in grooves etc. (want to avoid too much elbow grease!). Also I need to find fence parts that are missing. Anyone know of specialist suppliers?

hi Julia - house is in Dublin City (north). Have the job doen since the original post. Found a very good product called Sea to Sky 203 which ate throught the paint. I then used wire brush attachemnts for a drill to clean up before before weld repairs and paint.
for attachments that were missing/damaged I used two-part metals to form the shapes needed.
Do you have any info for me? |
