--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Would be grateful for any advice/experience in relation to the above.
Have tried all different types of paint to stop peeling from ceiling in addition to having the window opening when having showers but with little success.
Have people experience of installing an extraction/ventilation system, are there good/bad systems out there, Is this a job for a plumber or an electrician, and how much would one expect to pay.
Any feedback appreciated. |

Nothing worse than flaking paint. A half decent extraction fan should do the job. You can control it off your light switch or directly. Shouldn't cost too much and is a quick fit - maybe 25euro for a decent one with a built in timer. You should buy one in a electrical wholesalers or get the electrician to supply the lot and fix(not a plumbers job usually). Electrician rates vary but budget 3 hourswork at 50euro/hour.
If you are in Dublin and looking for an electrcian contact Phil at Maher Electrical.
p.s clean back the damaged paint with a scraper, then sand lightly, leave for a coupleof days and don't use shower(to make sure its dry), apply oil based primer and paint. Use an oil based paint..not emulsion. |
