I am looking for a wide plank unfinished wooden floor that I can stain/wax to darken. I want to create an old look and don't want a shine finish. Can anyone recommend any in particular. These need to be Semi-Solid. Also advice on care is also needed. Can anyone recommend what to put underneath to aid sound proofing as these will be upstairs also. |

You will find it difficult to get a semi solid in wideplank.
You wont get a structural timber in semi - solid. you could try salvage yards for a structural timber in wide plank. you could try merrion wideplank.

I could suggest looking at manufactured soft board as an underlay it will absorb sound, this might work on solid timber floors. so you are putting in another layer.
For care avoid varnishes with a gloss finish. there may be matt options. |
