Planning Advice - Dublin 4

We are considering purchasing a house which needs work. Is there any way that you can get a good idea whether you would get planning permission for adding a two storey extension. There is no previous planning application for a 2 storey extension on the row of houses previously. We do not want to buy it to find that we can't do what we want with it. Any info would be great - thanks

What I would suggest is to get in contact with an architect who knows the area and who knows the local planning authority. they will have a good idea of what has been recently granted. perhaps contact the planning authority yourself and ask them. they are often very helpful.
